Used to compare two people, things or ideas. Always use than after the comparative.
✅ Structure
Subject+to be+adjective-er / more + adj+than+noun
✅She is taller than her sister.
✅This phone is more expensive than mine.
Short (1 syllable) → add -er
tall→taller, fast→faster, old→older
Ends in -e → add -r only
nice→nicer, large→larger, safe→safer
CVC short vowel → double + -er
big→bigger, hot→hotter, thin→thinner
-y ending → change to -ier
happy→happier, easy→easier, busy→busier
📏 2+ Syllables → more + adjective
more+beautiful / expensive / interesting

Irregular Forms You Just Have to Learn| Base | Comparative | Example |

⚠ Key point: Use than (not "then") when comparing: "She is taller than me." NOT "She is taller then me."
