Countable & Uncountable Nouns
Nouns in English are either countable (you can count individual items) or uncountable (you cannot count them one by one). This difference controls which articles and quantifiers you use.
Countable: you can count them
a/an+singular noun
number+plural noun

a chair / four chairs
Can say: one book, two books ✓, so it has a plural form
Uncountable: you cannot count them
some/any/much/a lot of+noun (no plural!)

Cannot say: one water, two waters ✗, so there is no plural form

Remember! Never use a/an with uncountable nouns and never make them plural. Say some water, not a water. Say information, not informations.
